Yin Yoga usually consists of a series of passive floor poses that are held between 2 and 5 minutes. To stay as comfortable as possible in the poses blankets, cushions and blocks may be used.
With Yin Yoga you work the areas of the body that are especially rich in connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia) in order to eliminate tension, obtain more peace of mind and re-balance your energy.
Yin Yoga symbolizes meditation, depth and immobility and opposes to Yang Yoga that represents action, superficiality and movement. Both are useful to live well and should be complementary.
